Good point. I figured it would only be obvious to computer geeks like me what it is. It's the brain of your computer. Actually, only if you have a very old computer. It's a close-up of the pins on the central processing unit (CPU) that plugs onto the motherboard and usually has a fan attached to it.

Thank you. I pretty much quit upgrading. I have about 6 pc's, cut down from around 15. The rest got donated to family and friends. I still have tons of parts I will probably never use. It's much easier to just get a new one.

Yeah, we have tons of parts laying around. Hubby builds all our computers. As it turns out, Katherine is basically getting a new computer the only thing she has left from her old one is the hard drive. We went shopping for a new 450watt power supply and ended up getting a case with 480watts for ten dollars more. She bought new motherboard and chipset and 2GB of RAM Friday. Oh, she is stuck with an older cd/dvd burner but since hers quit working months ago I think she'll be ok. Family & friends are always asking if David can build them a pc but then they call at all hours of the day and night for the slightest problem. Do you get that too? David finally said "no more, I'm not technical support"
Hehehe. Yep.. I get that too.. They wouldn't even ask how I'm doing. Just start telling me their computer problems. I put an end to that pretty quickly. Now I just have one daughter who keeps loading crap on her computer and calls me when it doesn't work anymore. Last time, I told her to reformat her hard drive herself. LoL. She did it too. Hasn't had a problem since..
